June 19 Update: an additional public hearing on the map options is scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, June 19). The draft maps are available on the Draft Maps page.

In November of 2016, Placentia voters approved a change in how City Council Members are elected. Starting with the November 2018, election, City Council Members will now be elected “by district” instead of Citywide. Candidates must live in the district they wish to represent, and only the residents of that district will vote for the Council Member who will represent their area. But the map of districts is not yet drawn.

The City Council is asking for your help planning our City’s change to by-district Council elections. What do you consider your neighborhood or “community of interest”? Do you want to submit a proposed map, or changes to a map already in the discussion? Council wants to hear from you.
